Zaun Launcher Privacy Policy
Summary
Zaun Launcher keeps your information on your device. We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties.
This policy explains what Zaun Launcher (“Zaun”, “the app”) accesses, why, and the choices you have. Zaun is published by Priora Pty Ltd (“Priora”, “we”, “us”), an Australian company based in Perth, Western Australia.
Information the app accesses
Zaun only accesses information needed to run your home screen. Each item below is used for the feature named and nothing else.
| Information | Why Zaun uses it | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| List of installed apps | To show and launch your apps, and build your app drawer and search | Yes |
| Calendar events | To show upcoming events on your home screen and calendar card | No, only if you allow calendar access |
| Location | To switch Spaces automatically when you arrive at or leave a place, and to show local weather | No, only if you allow location access |
| Notification counts | To show unread badges next to apps | No, only if you allow notification access |
| Your settings and Spaces | To remember your layouts, Spaces and preferences | Yes |
| Purchase status | To unlock Zaun Pro | Only if you buy Pro |
Zaun does not ask for your name, email address or contacts, and does not require an account.
Where your information is stored
Everything Zaun accesses stays on your device. We do not run servers that collect or store your personal information, and we cannot see your apps, calendar, location or notifications.
To show weather, Zaun sends an approximate location to a weather service ([weather provider name]) to fetch the forecast. Only the location is sent, with nothing that identifies you.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or analytics.
Web and AI search
Zaun can send searches to search engines and AI providers, but only when you choose to. Nothing is sent unless you run a search.
- What is sent: only the text you type into the search. Zaun attaches no other information about you.
- Where it goes: directly to the search engine or AI provider you picked. It does not pass through our servers, and we do not see or keep it.
- Your choice of provider: you can change or turn off web and AI search in Zaun’s settings.
- Their rules apply: the provider’s own privacy policy covers what you send it.
Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information with third parties. The only exception is information you choose to send yourself, such as a search.
Some services outside our control are involved in normal use:
- Google Play handles downloads, updates and Pro purchases. Payment details go to Google, never to us. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that information.
- Search engines and AI providers receive your search text only when you choose to send it. Their own privacy policies apply.
- Android itself manages the permissions you grant Zaun.
We may disclose information only if required by Australian law. Because Zaun keeps your information on your device, we generally have none to disclose.
Your choices
You control what Zaun can access. Optional features ask for permission first, and Zaun works without them.
- Change permissions at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Zaun Launcher → Permissions. Turning one off disables only the feature that uses it.
- Background location is used only for automatic Space switching. Zaun explains this before asking, and you can switch Spaces manually instead.
- Delete your data by clearing Zaun’s storage in Android Settings or uninstalling the app. This removes everything Zaun has stored.
We keep nothing about you after you uninstall, because we never held it.
Security
Zaun’s data is kept in the app’s private storage, protected by Android’s app sandbox. Other apps cannot read it.
Children
Zaun is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
